Riding to work instead of sitting in traffic sounds great. For a lot of short commutes, it is. Check these five things first.
1. Distance
Double your one-way trip. If the total is under 15–20 km, you're well within range. The K1 does 40–45 km on a charge.
2. Hills and weight
The K1 is happiest on flat routes and gentle slopes, and performs best for riders up to about 65 kg. On a steep route or as a heavier rider, you'll see lower speed and range. If that's you, WhatsApp us your route before you buy and we'll give you an honest answer.
3. Charging
The K1 charges in 3–5 hours. Charge it when you get home, or plug in at work if your trip is long.
4. Parking
You don't need any. Fold it and take it inside. It fits under a desk, in a cupboard or in a car boot.
5. Gear
- A helmet, every ride
- Something bright or reflective for early mornings
- A backpack, so your hands stay on the handlebars
- A backup plan for heavy rain
One more thing: rules on where you can ride an e-scooter differ between areas. Check yours before you plan your route.
